Construction portfolio consists of projects located within other Commonwealth Agency facilities such as Department of Corrections (Correctional Institutions), Department of Human Services (State Hospital and Center Facilities), Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (Universities), Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (Readiness Center and Veterans' Hospital), Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Flood Control, State Parks), and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Headquarter Building).
Position is home headquartered; however, daily travel to job sites in the following South Central Region counties is required: Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, and York. In addition, you may occasionally be asked to travel to the following counties outside of the South Central Region: Berks, Fulton, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, Northumberland, and Schuylkill.
Candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate prior to employment to Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry or York County.
DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position reports to a Project Coordinator and assists in managing capital improvement projects for Commonwealth Agencies within DGS' South Central Region. Duties include coordinating projects to ensure they are in accordance with approved plans, specs, general conditions, laws, regulations, and procedures; conducting job conferences; negotiating and approving change orders up to a specific limit; providing technical guidance and direction to outside professionals and contractors; monitoring project progress to ensure adherence to project schedules; problem-solving; using construction computer software for administrative forms and processes; generating various documents and reports in the IT system; representing the Department in claims/disputes; and ensuring effective and efficient customer care to all client agencies and stakeholders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
This is a portal-to-portal position wherein the Commonwealth pays for an employee to travel from their home to the construction site(s) and back home as part of their work hours. Daily travel to construction projects throughout the South Central Region is required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of professional building construction administration, construction planning, or construction project engineering experience for renovations and new construction of commercial, institutional, or educational buildings; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- You must possess and maintain an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C drivers license or equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
- You must reside in or be willing to relocate prior to employment to Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, or York County.
- You must be willing and able to travel to construction sites in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, and York counties in the South Central Region.
- You must be willing and able to travel to the following counties outside of the South Central Region if necessary for work: Berks, Fulton, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, Northumberland, and Schuylkill.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- On-site renovation and new construction experience at commercial, institutional, and educational Buildings
- Working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) construction schedules
- Previous work experience on construction projects that utilized separate multiple Prime Contractors to perform the work
- Experience writing, generating correspondence to contractors, design professionals and/or clients regarding project issues, conditions or potential actions
- Experience conducting construction meetings
- Experience reviewing or negotiating construction change orders
- Microsoft Office Suite and/or Construction Management Software experience
