As a Safety Manager, youll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with safety protocols, promoting proactive risk management, and creating a safe, productive environment for all personnel on-site.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce project-specific and client-mandated safety plans and procedures.
- Coordinate with regional safety leadership to ensure availability of safety signage and PPE.
- Verify that all on-site personnel have completed required safety orientation.
- Collect and organize safety documentation from subcontractors and trade partners (e.g., JHAs, SDSs, High-Risk Activity Plans, training records).
- Conduct daily safety audits using digital tools, including annotated photo documentation.
- Submit at least two Safety Observation Reports weekly.
- Spend 6070% of your time in the field, engaging with crews and observing safety practices.
- Participate in daily huddles, coordination meetings, and preconstruction planning.
- Lead or support weekly all-hands safety meetings, including content preparation and attendance tracking.
- Spot-check safety documentation and review Daily Action Plans and orientation logs.
- Report incidents and near-misses promptly and assist with investigations.
- Deliver site-specific safety orientations and maintain communication with subcontractor safety reps.
- Lead or participate in planning for high-risk activities.
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience, including 3+ years in a managerial role.
- Safety certifications such as CHST or CSP.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience supporting data center or commercial building projects.
- Bachelors degree in a related field with 810 years of safety experience.
- Willingness to undergo top-secret security clearance.
