Position Information:
Under the supervision of the Director of Contracts, the Contracts Specialist manages, reviews, negotiates, drafts, and processes simple and complex contracts for the school of medicine (SOM). Coordinates with stakeholders and manages the contract lifecycle process to ensure timely and efficient administration of all contracting activities. Detail oriented and organized. Independently provides advice/guidance to various stakeholders, staff, and affiliates, and works closely with health sciences attorney, as necessary. Leads in resolving contract-related operational issues and maintains ongoing external and internal relationships. Additionally, develops and provides training to other departments when necessary.
The full salary range for the Contracts Specialist is $73,600 - $133,200 annually. However the expected pay scale for this position is up to $118,300. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
This position offers a hybrid schedule with a minimum three days in office with the option of two days remote.

- Drafts, negotiates, and redlines contract language and develops counterproposals. Facilitates the contract lifecycle management process, and oversees the contract lifecycle management systems and processes. Ensure the expedient execution of contracts, amendments, and renewals of contracts. Leads the development of contracting reports and metrics.
- Works closely with health sciences counsel, as needed and/or required.
