OVERVIEW

The Mitigation Project Superintendent reports to the Mitigation Department Manager or the General Manager depending on location, with accountability for providing excellent service for those who have been victims of disaster and for restoring property and lives with a servant's heart. The Mitigation Project Superintendent is responsible for responding on-site for Water Mitigation and Emergency Services projects. The primary responsibility will be project management. This is an on-call role that requires the Project Superintendent to work in the field and in the office for customers in need of restoration services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responds to and oversees Mitigation & Emergency Services projects, managing those independently
  • Supervise Mitigation & Emergency Service Technicians
  • Coordinate responses to new projects
  • Assess, scope, and document project details to provide necessary information for the estimate
  • Track and monitor online control points (dates/times) via internal and external websites
  • Provide excellent customer service to property owners and/or managers
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters and other decision makers
  • Train Mitigation & Emergency Service Technicians
  • Warehouse and vehicle cleaning and inventory management
  • Profitably complete and collect on invoiced projects
  • Manage and monitor sub-contractor work
  • Find and develop new sub-contractor relationships as necessary
  • Participate in sales and marketing efforts in branch market to generate new leads and relationships
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in the restoration industry
  • Certifications: Must have, or be willing to obtain, the following certifications-
  • IICRC WRT
  • IICRC AMRT

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The Mitigation Project Superintendent must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrate the ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and the ability to speak effectively to customers and/or employees of organization in the English language.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, the Mitigation Project Superintendent should have knowledge of industry related software be able to "touch type" and be familiar with software like Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.); able to communicate via cell phone and appropriate apps.

REASONING ABILITY:

The Mitigation Project Superintendent should possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. They should also have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form in the English language.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Mitigation Project Superintendent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to alternate sitting and standing at will; using hands to seize, grasp, turn; reaching overhead; crawling; kneeling; climbing ladders; donning and doffing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) independently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may also be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The Mitigation Department Manager is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Appropriate safety equipment is furnished.
