Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Survey Crew Member where you will play a vital role in a significant highway design project. This entry-level position offers opportunities for career growth and development in the field of land surveying.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily with the field coordinator, project managers, and other office staff.
  • Ensure safety compliance and adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Supervise all members of the survey crew and work independently as needed.
  • Upload and download data collectors daily.
  • Maintain and charge survey instrumentation.
  • Advance knowledge with technology and equipment upgrades.
  • Assist the Party Chief in carrying survey equipment and supplies to the job site.
  • Clear vegetation obstructing the line of sight and assist in data collection.
  • Work in the office during inclement weather, learning CAD and supporting other tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Experience running a crew using robotic total stations and GPS is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Trimble or other survey equipment such as GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors.
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills are preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microstation is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and follow directions from the Party Chief.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and a strong work ethic.
Work Environment

This position involves working outdoors in diverse weather conditions as part of a survey crew. Report to the Party Chief / Field Coordinator and assist in executing survey tasks safely and effectively. Opportunities for career advancement are available. During inclement weather, work will be office-based, offering learning experiences with CAD software. Overtime work is optional, providing flexibility for those who wish to earn more.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
