Electrical Drafter Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Drafter to support the design and development of sheet metal enclosures and assembly drawings tailored to specific project requirements. This role begins with a focus on creating precise fabrication drawings and offers a clear path toward full design responsibilities. Experience in environments where your drawings are directly translated into on-site manufacturing is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and draft sheet metal enclosures and electrical assemblies.
  • Develop detailed fabrication drawings from solid models using EPDM or PDM systems.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure designs meet project specifications and manufacturing standards.
  • Transition from drafting tasks to full-scale design responsibilities over time.
  • Ensure all drawings are optimized for on-site fabrication and assembly.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics and designs.
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical .
  • Solid understanding of NEC and UL standards.
  • Experience designing electrical enclosures and working with switchgear, generators, and power generation systems.
  • Familiarity with structural steel fabrication.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in electrical equipment design using AutoCAD.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience creating and managing AutoCAD templates.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Formal degree is a plus but not required.
Work Environment This is an on-site position working closely with an Electrical Engineer to ensure seamless transition from design to fabrication. The role demands precision, compliance awareness, and proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks .

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $32.69/hr.
