Civil Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to contribute to the design of land development projects within Prince George's, Montgomery, and Howard Counties of Maryland. This role involves utilizing AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop design concepts and plans across various areas such as site layout, water and sewer mains, roads, soil erosion, sedimentation control plans, floodplain studies, and grading plans. The successful candidate will also provide assistance to team members and management to help achieve department goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design land development projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Develop site layouts, water and sewer mains, roads, and erosion control plans.
  • Conduct floodplain studies and create grading plans.
  • Collaborate with other team members and management to accomplish department goals.
  • Visit client sites and engage in project management.
Essential Skills
  • 2-5 years of experience designing with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; E.I.T. preferred.
  • Experience in drainage and floodplain studies, site grading, stormwater management, and paving plans.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Montgomery County permits.
  • Experience in private land development preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
