Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Structural Designer to join our team! In this role you will get to provide designer skills to prepare structural Revit and CAD designs for Facilities Design and Construction projects for our DoD customers .
What You'll Be Doing:
- Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex Revit models and construction drawings, utilizing theoretical and practical structural design knowledge.
- Performs complex structural modelling and drafting tasks efficiently and accurately both independently and as part of a team.
- Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Understands and utilizes more advanced software to complete assignments.
- Works closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated designs.
- Meets layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts as required.
- Reviews supplier data and supplier drawings, as required.
- Develops and reviews Revit models, orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings.
- Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Provides input and technical guidance for mentoring lower-level Designers working on the same and other projects.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- 2-year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent) is preferred, and typically 8+ years of related experience.
- Structural designers must be Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and/or Bluebeam.
- Active Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one .
- Experience in federal, defense or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with Design-Build project delivery methods.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Certified as Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit
