Job Summary: The Construction Project Assistant supports the Construction Project Manager in coordinating daily activities related to construction project planning and execution. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in real estate development and construction, with mentorship and on-the-job training designed to prepare the individual for advancement into a Construction Project Manager role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and coordination of construction projects from start to finish.
- Track and maintain project schedules, budgets, contracts, and permit documentation.
- Communicate regularly with contractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
- Conduct job site visits to assist in project oversight and ensure safety compliance.
- Prepare project reports, meeting agendas, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Organize and manage project files, drawings, and specifications.
- Support procurement activities, including vendor sourcing and purchase order tracking.
- Attend and document project meetings and assist with follow-up on action items.
- Learn and apply building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in construction
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material and project management principles.
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
- Good knowledge of MS Office.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Aptitude in math and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
