Position Summary:
The Project Manager in Hillenbrand is responsible for executing OEM (new equipment) contracts for industrial mills, pulverizing, and classifying equipment. This role involves reviewing sales proposals, preparing and issuing contract engineering worksheets, developing project schedules, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring all project deliverables meet contractual, technical, and financial requirements. The Project Manager ensures project timelines, costs, and quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle, serving as the primary internal and external communication point.

Work Youll Do:

  • Review sales proposals, cost models, customer specifications, and supporting documentation; prepare accurate contract engineering worksheets.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project execution schedules aligned with contract agreements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, applications, and other teams to meet technical, schedule, and budget objectives.
  • Review and approve requisitions for vendor purchases.
  • Manage the timely submission of necessary customer support documentation such as drawings, manuals, and approval documents.
  • Monitor project costs and margins, identifying opportunities for margin improvement.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all internal and external communications related to projects from order booking to warranty support.
  • Support field activities during equipment start-up and provide ongoing project support to ensure customer satisfaction.

Team:

This role will be a part of the Coperion New Equipment Projects team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project execution, industrial machinery, or technical problem solving.
  • Experience reviewing CAD drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management or enterprise software like SAP, QAD, or Navision.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to apply industry standards, trends, and practical knowledge to develop innovative solutions using conceptual and practical expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Experience with industrial processing machinery or similar equipment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and industry standards.
