SUMMARY:

Detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Drafter. In this role, you will assist in preparing layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-specific software, in compliance with standards and local codes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist senior designers and project managers with the preparation of submittal drawings
  • Update and revise drawings as needed throughout the design and construction process
  • Coordinate with other trades and design disciplines
  • Prepare material takeoffs and assist in creating stock lists
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation
  • Attend project meetings as needed (virtual or in-person)
  • Reliable and predictable attendance is required for the function of this job*

Education, Experience, Knowledge

AutoCAD experience/Drafting Experience

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of or enrollment in a drafting, engineering, or CAD-related technical program is preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required, experience with Revit a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the fire protection industry

Physical Requirements:

  1. Sitting: Sits at the desk for the majority of the day.

  2. Handling: Seizes, assists, or works with hands.

  3. Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous documents.

  4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.

  5. Vision: Read computer screens and paperwork.

  6. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.

  7. Standing: Remains in a standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.

  8. Talking: Communicating effectively by phone and in person.

  9. Walking and moving about on foot.
