Survey Crew Chief Southwest Florida
Full-Time | Field-Based | Civil Construction Projects
A respected infrastructure contractor in Southwest Florida is hiring a Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations for road and bridge construction projects. This is a great opportunity for an experienced surveyor to take on a leadership role in a dynamic field environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead construction, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys.
  • Supervise and train crew members; ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Operate total stations, GPS (Trimble preferred), and data collectors.
  • Interpret construction plans and manage site layout.
  • Communicate with engineers and site management.
  • Maintain accurate field notes, control points, and daily reports.
  • Support QA/QC with as-built and progress documentation.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years in surveying (2+ as Crew Chief); civil/roadwork experience preferred.
  • Proficient with robotic total stations, GPS, and construction layout practices.
  • Strong knowledge of FDOT standards and reading CAD files.
  • Valid FL drivers license; ability to work outdoors and travel to sites.
  • OSHA certification and UAV experience a plus.
