MIG Welder Assembler Shift: 8am - 5pm M-F Pay: $17-$18/hr Location: Westside Jacksonville (32221) Job Description As a Welder Assembler, you will play a crucial role in the construction of safe rooms, primarily using MIG welding techniques and occasionally TIG welding. You will be tasked with building wall panels, installing drywall, painting, and utilizing both hand and power tools for measuring and cutting various materials. Approximately half of your time will be devoted to welding, while the other half will involve general shop duties, including panel building. Working in teams of 4-6, you will construct rooms based on provided drawings and receive training on how to interpret them. Mastery of reading a tape measure down to the 16th is vital. Responsibilities Construct safe rooms using MIG and TIG welding techniques. Build wall panels and install drywall. Paint surfaces and use hand and power tools for measuring and cutting materials. Collaborate in teams of 4-6 to construct rooms based on drawings. Learn to interpret and work from construction drawings. Utilize tape measure down to the 16th for precise measurements. Essential Skills Proficiency in MIG welding and passing a weld test. Experience in construction, assembly, fabrication, or a shop setting. Ability to read a tape measure down to the 16th. Skillful use of hand and power tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of chop saw, bandsaw, and shear is a plus. Work Environment Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, in a smaller open-air shop. You will work in diverse teams and must be able to travel approximately three times a year for two weeks at a time. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, Florida. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
