Electrical Engineer

Job Description

The Electrical Engineer will lead the design and development of instrumentation and control products, such as monitors, transmitters, and electronic switches, from concept to successful launch. The role involves ensuring delivery schedules, cost, and quality requirements are met, in line with a structured stage gate process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design of new products, ensuring successful launches.
  • Develop architectural options to meet concept and market needs.
  • Create sub-system and system-level prototypes across hardware, firmware, and software modules.
  • Ensure packaging of electronic components aligns with mechanical design for a functional system.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware/software issues through lab testing.
  • Conduct thorough functional testing to meet specifications and certification requirements.
  • Support value engineering and cost-out initiatives.
  • Address customer quality issues with urgency.
  • Lead project teams, directing the work of others and collaborating with engineering resources in Germany and India.
  • Prepare and direct the preparation of project documentation such as schematics, drawings, and test procedures.
  • Interface with other disciplines, including operations, quality assurance, and purchasing, to resolve problems and achieve objectives.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in PCB Design using Altium or similar software.
  • Experience in embedded system design, including microprocessors, RAM, and EEPROM.
  • Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design.
  • Experience in new product development and sustaining engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in electronic design and embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in embedded software architecture.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within and across teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with design software tools for PCB layout, trace width, via, component packages, and Surface Mount Technologies.
  • Knowledge in analog circuit design, including OP-Amps, filters, SPICE simulation, power supplies, and signal conversion.
  • Experience with digital circuit design, including UART circuits, LED/LCD, keypads, timing constraints, and frequency response.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
