Painter Pay: $25-28/Hour Location: Seattle, WA Job Description As a Painter, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, interpreting work orders and drawings, and executing precise painting and finishing tasks using advanced techniques and equipment. Responsibilities Communicate with team members to understand customer requirements and expectations. Read and understand work orders, drawings, and other documentation prior to finishing and painting. Use measuring tools to layout and mask parts according to prints. Mix paint colors per samples provided or by Pantone number using an in-house color matching system. Apply decals as per prints. Fill holes or gaps with appropriate patching materials to prepare parts for priming. Preserve part geometry throughout the finishing process. Buff and polish parts as needed to achieve the desired finish. Recognize and communicate any issues within the process, such as warped parts or contamination. Prime, paint, and clear coat parts using lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxy using proper techniques and HVLP equipment. Colormatch, blend, and touch up parts as needed. Disassemble, clean, and maintain paint guns and related equipment. Work closely with sales, project managers, and customers to achieve specialty finishes. Follow operational procedures at all times. Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times. Essential Skills Proficiency in colormatching and using HVLP equipment. Experience with 3D CAD and reading 2D prints. Ability to regularly lift 30 pounds and often up to 50 pounds. Skills in paint mixing, decal application, buffing, and polishing. Problem-solving skills for addressing unique painting challenges. Additional Skills & Qualifications Auto painting skills are often transferrable. Ability to communicate clearly in English. Manual dexterity to operate common paint and finishing tools. Work Environment The work environment requires wearing a mask or fresh air breathing apparatus when working with paint products emitting hazardous vapors. You will need to stand, stoop, and bend for a minimum of 8 hours per day and possess manual dexterity to operate painting tools. The role involves exposure to hazards or physical risks requiring basic safety precautions and may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and unpleasant odors. You must be able to visually read work instructions, gauges, and monitors, and communicate effectively in English. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, Washington. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
