Job Overview

L&H Companies is experiencing growth and is seeking a full-time Custom Metal Fabricator. The primary function of this position includes metal forming, welding, and fitting of sheet aluminum, tube, and angle.

Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Following blueprints, specifications, diagrams and/or schematics, fabricates and assembles structural products while maintaining workplace organization

Forming and welding of metal

Welding and fitting of sheet aluminum, tube, and angle

Build and assemble the materials listed above

Determine materials needed based on the drawings and fabricate accordingly

Notify management of materials needed, as possible

Contributes to team effort by completing related duties as needed

Good Attendance

Other duties as required

Safety and workplace organization

Desired Qualifications

Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment

Knowledge of industrial materials

Ability to demonstrate adherence to inventory protocol and other procedures

Advanced understanding and use of power tools, as well as manufacturing tools

Advanced understanding of aluminum fabrication (i.e. welding, chemical and mechanical fastening), plastics and machining

Safety Management

Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools

Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences

Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components

Excellent organizational, management, and communication skills; written, verbal and listening skills

High school diploma or equivalent; Welding Certification, preferred

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to bend and squat frequently

Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time

Ability to use various handheld power tools
