Role Description
Nova is seeking a Senior R D Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge, multidisciplinary systems as part of our advanced technology solutions.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will become an integral part of the HW R D team, helping drive the development of advanced opto-mechanical systems in close collaboration with optics, electronics, and manufacturing functions.
What you will be doing:
Develop and implement multidisciplinary system architectures with a focus on opto-mechanical solutions
Take ownership of complex system integration frameworks and precision motion system development
advanced engineering expertise to design and optimize mechanical systems for semiconductor applications
Lead comprehensive design reviews and technical assessments
Coordinate and oversee production support, assembly, and integration activities
Ensure system designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations
Analyze and implement cost-optimization strategies (Design for Cost)
Present and explain technical specifications and test procedures to cross-functional teams
Collaborate closely with lab teams to validate system performance.
Requirements
BSc in Mechanical Engineering - must
10+ years of experience in developing multidisciplinary systems
Proven experience in opto-mechanical system development
Demonstrated experience in building integration frameworks for complex systems
Hands-on experience in developing precision motion systems
Prior experience in the semiconductor industry - advantage
Proficiency in Solid Edge for efficient design workflows - advantage
Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) - advantage
Experience working with Agile PLM systems
Understanding of safety standards and cleanroom-compatible materials
Full proficiency in English and Hebrew
