Location: Sea Girt or Bridgewater, New Jersey

Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $70,000 annually
Contractor Work Model: Onsite

Job Summary : We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Estimator responsible for generating accurate cost quotations for various steel fabrication projects. This role includes evaluating customer-supplied prints and BOMs, determining optimal manufacturing processes, and collaborating with the sales and production teams to ensure profitability and feasibility.

Project Estimator Job Duties:

• Create accurate cost estimates for Labor (Steel Fabrication) based on labor hours, material movement and other cost considerations
• Create takeoffs and BOMs by thoroughly going through customer supplied drawing packages
• Analyze and interpret customer prints and BOMs to gather pricing for any required hardware or tooling
• Determine most efficient manufacturing processes
• Implement job tracking and time studies for each awarded job to determine and refine quote accuracy
• Coordinate with Sales Team and Production team to ensure customer requirements can be met
• Maintain relationships with tooling vendors and any other relevant outside vendors
• Provide support to operations with process improvements and cycle time improvements

Project Estimator Job Requirements:

• Engineering experience
• Ability to Interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of Steel Components and properties
• CAD or CAM Experience preferred
• Organized with extreme attention to detail
• Prior Estimating experience preferred
• Ability to read construction design drawings
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Good problem solving skills and strong initiative / can do attitude
• Good interpersonal skills, phone manners and the ability to work with others
• Good organizational, planning and time management skills
• Excellent computer skills, including comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word

Project Estimator Education & Training Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field is preferred
• Prior Estimating Experience preferred
• Conduct job duties in a safe and efficient manner. Abide by all safety policies and guidelines.
• Familiarity with all EKSP forms, documents, reports related to your job function, including but not limited to forms and reports related to inventory, logistics, & production/operations departments
• Maintain neat and accurate written production documentation as required
• Communicate all pertinent job related information to supervisor/manager on a daily basis
• Forward-thinking while learning from errors, with focus on quality and customer service, solutions and continual improvements
• Focus on efficiencies and time and labor-saving steps; cost reduction; increased profitability
