Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Millwork & Construction Estimator who deeply understands custom cabinetry, millwork, and renovation projects. Initially, this role can be part-time but has significant potential to evolve into a full-time, key position, with opportunities to advance into cost control and project management roles as you grow with the company.
This position is ideal for someone who:
Has a solid understanding of high-end residential construction and/or custom woodworking.
Can confidently handle estimating responsibilities independently, from detailed takeoffs to complete bid packages.
Is eager to take ownership of the estimating function and proactively seeks opportunities for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed takeoffs from architectural drawings.
Accurately estimate material and labor costs for custom cabinetry, millwork, and renovation projects.
Request, negotiate, and analyze quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
Help refine estimating systems and procedures for consistency and accuracy.
Support proposal preparation and communicate clearly with our project management and sales teams.
Oversee projects and proactively assist Project Managers with change orders, tracking extras, and updating estimates during the project lifecycle.
What Were Looking For:
Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in millwork, custom cabinetry, or residential renovations.
Skilled in reading architectural drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with woodworking processes, AWI standards (a plus), and high-end finishes.
Comfortable with estimating software (Excel, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools).
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Great communication skillsable to clearly discuss estimates, options, and scopes internally and externally.
Commitment to integrity, teamwork, and growing with the company.
Compensation & Growth:
Competitive hourly pay ($30$45/hr depending on experience and demonstrated skill).
Potential to transition into a salaried full-time role based on performance.
Clear path for advancement into roles focused on financial analysis, cost management, and leadership.
