Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Actalent Services is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support one of our clients with HVAC design for commercial buildings.
Job Description
Responsible for mechanical HVAC development of design, preparation of construction documents, and performing construction administration on given projects, commensurate with experience. The role will initially support correctional projects and has a strong backlog of higher education projects. The Mechanical team, led by a advanced engineer, consists of several engineers and designers, primarily focused on HVAC design.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical engineering tasks including research, engineering calculations, load calculations, energy modeling, and preparation of studies, design documents, and construction documents.
- Coordinate mechanical system design with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
- Select mechanical equipment and systems for assigned projects.
- Undertake construction administration duties including submittal review, responding to Requests for Information, and participating in construction progress meetings.
- Observe construction progress, prepare field reports, and create punch lists (local, day travel).
Essential Skills
- Professional Engineer License
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience (preferably 8+ years)
- Proficient in Revit
- Comprehensive understanding of the design process
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Direct experience in correctional, healthcare, or higher education projects
- Encouragement and support to obtain continuing education and/or relevant industry credentials
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.88/hr.
