Job Title: Civil Engineer
Job Description
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for designing site layouts, site grading, rural and urban road design, sanitary sewer design, storm sewer design, stormwater drainage control, stormwater quality design, water line design, utility layout, and soil erosion control design. The projects will primarily be located in Richmond and nearby cities. The role involves participating in project development and design by assisting in maintaining project schedules, plan development and production, and quantity take-off.
This position is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to start there career! No previous experience required, just need to be able to get EIT certification in the future.
Responsibilities
- Design site layouts and grading plans.
- Develop rural and urban road designs.
- Create sanitary and storm sewer designs.
- Implement stormwater drainage control and quality design.
- Plan water line and utility layouts.
- Design soil erosion control for various projects.
- Assist in maintaining project schedules and plan development.
- Participate in quantity take-off for projects.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience in drainage and grading.
- Expertise in civil design and site development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Willingness to learn about the planning process.
- Ability to work with local Planning and Zoning offices.
- One to two years of site design experience is a plus.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office located in Richmond. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with potential for flexible hours. The company offers professional growth and advancement opportunities, including mentoring and software training. Engineers pursuing licensure will have access to a PE on staff to sign off on hours. Projects include major subdivisions and commercial developments such as fast food and coffee shops.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.85/hr.
