As a Civil Engineer, you must be able to apply comprehensive engineering practices and principles while employing sound decision making skills. You will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for assigned projects, as well as developing all aspects of plans, including roadway, traffic control, erosion, and sedimentation control. Excellent organizational skills are vital in order to c oordinate all required permits with applicable agencies, in addition to analyzing construction plans to determine the sequence and time in which phases of construction should be done. Showcase your critical thinking abilities to assist in resolving design problems and monitor the progress of design efforts, providing coordination with other units as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:3 0 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Indiana.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program ( Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration ) ; or
• One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelors degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline ; or
• Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associates degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline ; or
• Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a valid drivers license.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
