Civil Laborer Job Description We are seeking dedicated Civil Laborers to join our team and perform essential tasks such as hydroseeding, erosion control, laying down hay, shoveling, raking, and installing gabion basins. This role is crucial in supporting our operations within the construction industry. Responsibilities Perform hydroseeding and erosion control duties. Lay down hay, shovel, and rake as required. Install gabion basins effectively. Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, bulldozers, and articulated dump trucks. Ensure fine grade ability for dozer/excavator. Maintain safety standards at all times and adhere to OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with laborers on site and work in tandem with them. Essential Skills 3+ years of experience in operating excavators and dozers. 3+ years of experience using articulated dump trucks. Fine grade ability for dozer/excavator. 3rd party certifications for bulldozer/excavator or articulated haul truck. Safety awareness and knowledge, including OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Solar experience is a plus. Ability to work significant overtime and weekends as needed. Reliability in attendance and punctuality is crucial. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work on multiple civil closeout sites in a new construction environment. Be prepared for exposure to the elements, including hot and humid conditions during summer. The initial schedule consists of 50-hour weeks from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, including an hour lunch break and short breaks in the morning and afternoon. Safety is paramount, requiring the wearing of PPE gear such as hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, reflective vests, and gloves. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Farnham, Virginia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
