We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Fabricator Assistant Team Lead to support the Team Lead in overseeing daily operations within the fabrication department. This role includes hands-on fabrication duties, assisting with team supervision, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and helping coordinate workflow to meet production goals. The position offers $20/hr, full-time, Monday through Friday no weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Fabrication Team Lead in coordinating daily tasks and assignments.
Support team members with technical guidance and hands-on fabrication work.
Operate tools, machinery, and fabrication equipment (e.g., welding machines, grinders, press brakes, saws).
Ensure materials are used efficiently and finished products meet quality specifications.
Monitor team compliance with safety protocols and address safety concerns promptly.
Train and mentor new or junior fabricators.
Communicate with supervisors, engineers, and quality control to resolve issues.
Help manage inventory of tools and raw materials.
Maintain clean and organized workstations.
Track progress of jobs and report delays or issues to the Team Lead or Supervisor.
Step in as acting Team Lead during absences as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred.
2+ years of experience in fabrication, metalworking, or related manufacturing environments.
Prior leadership or team coordination experience is a plus.
Proficiency with fabrication tools and equipment.
Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a shop or production floor environment.
May involve exposure to noise, dust, heat, and physical hazards.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
