Position Summary:
The TIG Welder is accountable for all dimensions they create on any product. They ensure that all welds meet appropriate specifications, are cosmetically acceptable, and meet good craftsmanship standards.
Qualifications:
Experience with thin gauge stainless steel and aluminum
Demonstrated ability to accurately manufacture from blueprints (welds must meet dimensional specifications and be cosmetically acceptable)
The ability to follow welding requirements on certified welding jobs and follow procedures
Responsibilities include:
Wrapping insulation on localized area of product
Sharpening of own tungsten
Following Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) on all certified welding jobs
Following welding requirements as specified in the Manufacturing Manual
Contacting supervision or Weld Coordinator when rework is required so the applicable rework documents can be completed
Following all applicable safety rules and regulations
Recommending and helping to implement method improvements and cost reductions.
All other duties as directed by supervisor
