Start your K&A Career: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Construction Coordinator to join our team at K&A Engineering in Plattsburgh, New York. The FCC's responsibilities will include daily on-site oversight, ensuring adherence to established project timelines, budgetary constraints and all safety protocols. Their role will be instrumental in proactively identifying and resolving issues related to the AMI, Frontier and Make Ready violations, minimizing potential delays and cost overruns. Role Expectations: Work with Construction Managers managing the construction of electric substations, distribution lines, generation upgrades, and other projects Work in a team environment. Good working knowledge through actual use of MS Office products including Excel, Access, Word and MS Project. Basic knowledge of various electric utility assets and equipment. Knowledge of SAP is a plus. Ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences both in writing and verbally. Ability to interact effectively to other groups within the Company organization. 5 years minimum electric utility experience. Must have extensive knowledge in construction and maintenance of Utility equipment, including but not limited to transmission and distribution systems, underground networks and substations. Extensive knowledge of electric utility industry materials and equipment is a must. Able to assess the health of Utility assets and equipment as they relate to the utility inspection program. Capable of moderate to extensive travel, with some overnight stays, to various locations within RGE/NYSEG franchise area. Able to physically walk distribution lines or remote transmission right of ways. Experience in interaction with contractors and assessing their work. Perform QA/QC and Program Management duties What we're looking for: Minimum of six (6) years' experience in progressive related electric utility industry experience, with transmission facilities construction management Two (2) years of college is preferred MS Suite Required - with high competency in MS Excel Knowledge of NRA clearances and switching orders would be beneficial Experience with Distribution Lines Applicants should have the knowledge, experience, and skills needed to review project plans, specifications, contract enforcement, and applicable technical standards, OSHA, and other regulatory statutes. Detailed work experience in electrical Utility transmission UV/OV & civil construction Minimum of 5 years of supervisory capacity experience Knowledge of GPS Systems & knowledge of SAP is preferred Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings and convey interpretations to contractors Ability to investigate and solve construction problems in a timely manner with minimum dependence on others Computer and Administrative skills Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must have current US Work authorization and valid US Driver License in good standing Why Join K&A?
