Under general supervision performs a variety of duties in the Engineering Drafter Group such as:

Under general supervision performs a variety of duties in the Engineering Drafter Group such as:
Prepare complex mechanical, electrical, structural and topographical drawings and diagrams, utilizing CAD and/or Hybrid software, from field or other sketches, briefings, general outlines, manufacturer's drawings or catalogs, standards and similar data.
Make layout, assembly, and detail drawings of all phases of an assigned project, based on information received and/or gathered.
Sketch and draw the details required for the assembly of components to complete units: make study and development drawings.
Performs drafting to accepted company and national standards, e.g., symbols, nomenclature, engineering terms, etc.
Coordinate all phases of an assigned drafting job and/or project, assuring proper correlation of all details, including correct clearances and tolerances.
Select appropriate equipment and material for the assigned projects.
Prepare lists of material and lists of specifications.
Supervise the work of other drafters assigned to assist.
Assist in the training of lower classification draftsmen as assigned. Check work of same or lower classification as assigned.
Accurately interpret involved engineering plans.
Make reliable field measurements and sketches of existing facilities, and translate such data into drawings.
Check manufacturers' drawings and specifications or drawings made by others of same or lower classifications.
Make engineering calculations such as conversion of measurements and weights to other units, simple trigonometric calculations, and other calculations as need for the support of engineering drafting.
Keep an accurate daily log of work assigned and performed.
Perform other related or less skilled duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience
High School Diploma/GED
Relevant Work Experience
Two years of experience as an Engineer Drafter 2nd class. Required
High school graduate with six years of documented design / drafting experience which must include five years of experience with the CAD and Hybrid software currently in use by the company. Required
At least two semesters of engineering drafting at college level or equivalent. Required
Must have basic knowledge of electricity, general physics and mechanics, based on studies of these subjects, preferably by formal education. Required
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Access. Required
Should have valid license to operate an automobile. Required
Physical fitness necessary to carry out duties. Required
