Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Description
A nationally recognized general contractor with a strong reputation for delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure and building projects is seeking a Construction Superintendent to join their team to support their Port Authority projects throughout NYC. This is a high-impact role on a marquee project valued at over $200 million. The ideal candidate will bring deep field experience, strong leadership, and a passion for delivering excellence in construction execution.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure alignment with design, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and field staff to maintain project momentum and quality.
- Interpret construction drawings and provide technical guidance on methods, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and maintain the project schedule and logistics plan.
- Ensure compliance with contract documents and enforce safety protocols in accordance with the Site-Specific Safety Plan.
- Maintain strong communication with on-site owner representatives and project stakeholders.
- Monitor material and equipment usage to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Essential Skills
- Construction management
- Heavy civil and roadway construction experience
- Minimum 20 years of field supervisory experience, including 10+ years as a Superintendent on large-scale projects ($200M+)
- Proven experience in new building and structural construction (piles, concrete, structural steel, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. construction methods, techniques, and standards
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy Bid, and Procure
- OSHA and First Aid certifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Familiarity with City, State, and Federal Government construction projects is a plus

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $220000.00/yr.
