Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Railcar Welder to perform welding and fabrication tasks on railcars and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG and/or flux-core welding in an industrial or transportation setting, and be capable of interpreting blueprints, repair instructions, and safety protocols to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:-
Perform MIG, stick, or flux-core welding on railcars including tank cars, hopper cars, and flatcars.

Repair or replace damaged or worn metal components on railcars according to specifications.

Use oxy-fuel cutting torches, grinders, and other tools to prep materials or remove defective welds.

Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work orders to complete assignments accurately.

Inspect and test welds to ensure strength and quality meet industry and regulatory standards (AAR, FRA, etc.).

Operate cranes, forklifts, and other equipment to position components as needed.

Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas; adhere to OSHA and company safety policies at all times.

Complete documentation for work performed, including inspection reports and repair logs.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production and quality goals.

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

13 years of welding experience in an industrial or transportation environment.

Proficient in MIG, stick, or flux-core welding.

Ability to pass a weld test administered on-site.

Familiarity with measuring tools (tape measures, squares, levels).

Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as they relate to railcars.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions (climbing, crouching, confined spaces).
