We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join a very diverse team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves leading project teams, overseeing and managing various project tasks, developing technical concepts and designs, and preparing documents including reports, studies, plans, specifications, and estimates.

The Senior Civil Engineer will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, both domestic and international. Projects may include healthcare facilities, federal buildings, science and technology centers, higher education institutions, sports and recreation complexes, transportation systems, and infrastructure developments for a range of clients, including state, county, and local agencies as well as private entities.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a senior technical resource and potentially as a technical lead for the team.
  • Provide specialized technical input for studies and designs.
  • Develop procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates.
  • Complete all steps of the discipline component of PS&E packages.
  • Perform quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Contribute to engineering budgets and schedules.
  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • Present design solutions to project teams.
  • Collaborate with other team members.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and 6 years of experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience with site/civil design projects.
  • Experience preparing calculations and design documents (reports, plans, specifications).
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License (required for site visits and travel).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in civil engineering and building development projects.
  • PE license in Civil Engineering.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools.
  • Experience with permitting for site/land development projects.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills in deadline-driven environments.
  • Experience working on large and complex projects or programs.

Additional Information:

  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule, including in-office work in Honolulu, Hawaii.
  • Candidates must be available to work in Honolulu on a scheduled basis.
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
