Electrician I - Mt. Holly Springs, PA (5204)

The ELECTRICIAN I position is a position within the Maintenance Department. The individual must pass an electrical skills test to qualify for a two-year probationary period, during which the employee will be supervised and graded. The employee must undergo the required training and testing to progress to the Electrician II level, and must successfully pass testing every two years thereafter.

Emergency Work: Must be willing and able to respond to call-backs to the plant at any time, i.e. weekends, nights, holidays. Must be able to respond to emergency calls and return to the plant within 30 minutes. The Electrician I must utilize a cell phone to facilitate response to call-ins.

The use of a respirator is required to perform the functions of this job. The successful bidder must pass the physical and complete the needed training. The successful bidder must also agree to be clean-shaven: beards are not allowed in any form. Mustaches and other facial hair will be allowed as long as they do not interfere with the seal of the respirator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

d. Performs work from work orders, drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions.

e. Maintain quality and focus on continuous improvement.

f. Consistently troubleshoots equipment failures and can identify the root cause of the failure.

g. Performs lighting maintenance, motor installation, conduit installation and electrical measurement.

h. Performs the repair and troubleshooting of low and medium voltage systems.

i. Understands and applies DC Principles, AC Principles, electrical hardware/components and protective devices.

j. Utilize basic computer skills including email, internet and work order system.

k. Perform and assist in mechanical maintenance as directed.

l. Plan, layout and perform basic electrical operations in maintaining and repairing the facilities and equipment.

m. Utilizes National Electrical Code (NEC) in all electrical work.

n. Reads and understands electrical blueprints and schematics

o. Performs, understands and recommends preventative and predictive maintenance.

p. Maintains records as directed.

q. Assist in maintaining spare parts. .

r. Understands and operates shop equipment.

s. Understands the operation of the fire system in all locations.

t. Sufficient physical stature to insure proper handling of job, including working from ladders and scaffolds.

u. Must know ISO procedures relating to job and follow said procedures.

v. Must undergo training leading up to qualification as an Electrician II. Job qualification to be determined by administration of testing by a union/management team.

w. Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor. Must be able to be on-call and work outside regular business hours as needed for plant emergencies.

x. Must possess a valid driver's license and own reliable transportation

y. Understands and utilizes all safe work procedures and practices.

z. Ability to operate power tools

aa. Ability to read and locate information on documents, write, and use simple arithmetic including unit conversions.

bb. Must be qualified to operate forklift truck properly and safely.
