As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead a cross-functional engineering team in the planning, coordinating, monitoring, and executing new product development medical device projects. In your role, you will ensure R&D projects are completed on time/cost & budget. You will support cutting-edge medical device products from the inception phase to launch for Strykers Surgical Technologies business unit within Stryker Instruments.

You will need to live within commuting distance to our Portage, Michigan office. You will need to be in the office 3 days a week and can work from home on other days.
What you will do
Lead the team in developing the project charter and management plan. Direct, manage, monitor, and control projects. Develop a strong business case and evaluate tradeoffs within a project.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop, manage, and own project scope. Create a detailed Work Breakdown Structure.
Develop and manage the detailed project Gantt chart. Analyze critical paths, major workstreams, and intersecting milestones. Own the project schedule.
Collaborate with cross-functional managers to define project budgets. Monitor and maintain costs within budget.
Partner with the project team to create Quality Plans using 2-3 quality planning tools and techniques. Monitor and maintain plans.
Develop a project risk management plan. Identify, analyze, and understand project risks; develop and monitor a risk response plan.
Estimate, acquire, and assign cross-functional project resources. Define each team member's role, responsibility, and deliverables.
Provide direct feedback to the functional manager on performance reviews.
Develop a Stakeholder management plan for the project based on identifying, analyzing, and understanding Stakeholder expectations.
What you need
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
Minimum 6 years of experience, with a strong focus on new product development (NPD).
Proven ability to manage technical scope, schedules, and stakeholder alignment in an R&D or innovation-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of project management experience leading cross-functional teams through full product development cycles.
New Product Development experience or product launch experience
Utilization of Agile and rolling-wave or waterfall planning methodology
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for product design
Led or developed products for medical devices or regulated industries
Experience developing injection-molded products and/or single-use products
PMP or equivalent preferred
