Engineering Technician 2

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineer Technician 2 for a contract opportunity in Chandler, AZ.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):o High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.o Positive attitude - vocal contributor - team player.o Experience working with engineering drawings, schematics, work packages, data recording.o Good mechanical aptitude, problem solver.o Ability to perform hands-on work, from small detailed work to working with large heavy objects.o Proficient with hand tools.o Desire to balance technical, schedule, cost, and resources in order to meet overall company objectives.o Basic computer knowledge, working with MS Office product line.o US citizenship required.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Looking for an Engineering Technician 2 to support our Structural Analysis and Test team. As a member of the team, you will work in a fast-paced, highly skilled environment alongside other test technicians and engineers. Responsibilities:o Provides technical support in the Structural Test Bay by working with fellow technicians and engineers to develop, build, test, and document testing of hardware for the Launch Vehicles Division.o Individuals must have a strong mechanical aptitude while having the desire to ensure the highest overall job quality.o Individuals must have good communication skills, both orally and written as the desired candidate will work closely with other technicians and engineers.o Record, maintain, format, and report technical data.o Engineering Technician will be asked to assist with the design of test setups and should be able to respond quickly under dynamically changing scenarios.o Provide mechanical support to assembling fixtures and test setups.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):o Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Costpoint, and MES is a plus.o Working with pressurized hydraulics is benefit.o Forklift experience.o Crane operations and overhead lifting of large heavy objects (like structural steel).o Soldering experience.o Instrumentation experience (installing/bonding strain gages and linear displacement transducers).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:o Ability to lift 50 lbs.REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent is required.School must be accredited.WORK HOURS:Full-Time 9/80 work week. 1st shift. This position will serve on-site at the test facility located at the Launch Vehicles Division, Chandler, AZ facility.
