Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Creates detailed shop drawings per the contract documents and provides Architectural Drawings
- Works closely with the Engineering Manager, Shop Manager, Project Manager, and others to ensure that project detailing in done in detail and per the design intent
- Accounts for budget hours as quoted by sales to ensure completion of shop drawings in a timely manner
- Seeks ways to expedite drawing time without sacrificing quality or accuracy
- Attends Kick Off meetings to ensure complete understanding of project scope and timelines
- Reviews contract drawings thoroughly to understand expectations and question any discrepancies
- Maintains and organizes drawings in job file per standards
- Uploads As-Built sets to BlueBeam and PlanGrid as needed
- Identifies and questions items that are out of scope and/or different from contract documents
- Reviews project specs and ensure we are drawing the current sets Understands all AWI certified standards
- Works directly under the Engineering Manager
- Reviews take offs to ensure proper material amounts are being recognized
- Reviews building practices with Shop Managers and Builders
- Provides feedback for the betterment of the TOP program
- Collaborates with Engineering Team to review new procedures and/or current issues
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to collaborate on a team
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to read blueprints
- Basic understanding of architectural millwork
Education and Experience:
- Associates in Mechanical Drafting or Computer Science, highly desirable.
- AutoCAD Certification with ornamental fabrication experience, highly desirable.
