Non-Union Private and Public Works subcontractor located in Anaheim in business for 40 years is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accounting Manager to oversee our companys financial operations, including financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of construction experience working for a subcontractor in California, and a minimum of 5 years experience with all bookkeeping functions within a construction company. Must demonstrate proficiency with using Quickbooks Premiere Contractor (or similar), Excel and Word, 10 key by touch and typing of 80 WPM. Must demonstrate trustworthiness, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
This position includes but is not limited to the following:
Heavy Accounts Receivable billing in Quickbooks and on General Contractors forms using Procore and Textura as required and billing within the GCs billing time frames and expertise with CA Lien Release Forms, and also including supplier releases and joint check processing.
Heavy Accounts Receivable Collections, including knowledge and experience with CA Mechanics Lien Laws, Stop Notices and knowledge of tracking and timing of filing Mechanics liens.
Construction Accounts Payables, including knowledge of job cost coding by project and code codes, pay by job basis, joint checks, office payables and check runs. Supervision of 2 employees in A/P Department.
Field & Office Payroll Knowledge of bookkeeping for payroll purposes, knowledge of ADP system (or similar) required, oversight of weekly payroll processing, input of payroll into jobcosting system, Quarterly and W-2 experience, workers comp monthly reporting to insurance company, knowledge of OCIP payroll reports a plus, 401K program administration and payments a plus, garnishment processing, and human resource administration.
Public Works Certified Payroll Reporting, including knowledge and experience of CA certified payroll and Federal certified payroll reporting and reports, DIR website reporting, LCP tracker reporting a plus, apprentice requirements
Bookkeeping includes but is not limited to weekly check run, reconciliations, journal entries, month close, accurate and timely financial reports, CA Quarterly Use Tax Return, Yearly business property tax reporting, fixed asset management and coordination with outside company CPA.
Construction insurance responsible for handling renewals and requesting insurance certificates for GCs and subcontractors, subcontractor maintenance, experience with construction insurance requirements and endorsements.
Safety Program OSHA log reporting and knowledge of Safety Programs, workers comp claims
Health Insurance responsible for handling Open Enrollment for Health and Dental Plans
Construction Contracts knowledge and experience reading and deciphering contracts, issuing subcontractor contracts and purchase orders, subcontractor maintenance, knowledge of close out requirements. Green building code and Leed reporting a plus.
