Construction Worker - $290/day

Work Location: Queens, NY

Salary: $290per day (equivalent to civilservice rate)

As a Construction Laborer youll play a vital part in keeping DOHMH facilities safe and operational. Reporting to the Field &FacilityManager, youll assist skilled trades staff with repairs, minor installations and emergency workhelping us deliver uninterrupted publichealth services to every NewYorker.

• Drive DOHMH vehicles to deliver tools, equipment and supplies to multiple job sites.
• Load and unload trucks; move furniture, materials and machinery (manual or with forklifts/pallet jacks).
• Organize and relocate office furniture, partitions and surplus inventory; assist with departmental moves.
• Perform basic demolition, cleanups and minor building repairs under supervision.
• Support licensed trades in carpentry, HVAC, plumbing and electrical tasks.
• Respond to building emergencies and participate in publichealth emergency activations.
• Maintain safe work practices and follow all DOHMH policies.

• Experience with building maintenance, moving, or warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with forklifts, pallet jacks and power tools.
• Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work independently or in a team.
