As a Structural Bridge Engineer and vital member of our Milwaukee team, youll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on bridges and other transportation structure designs. You will serve in a technical role and/or task lead on bridge design projects and perform complex structural analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects on local and national projects. Well look for your knowledge and experience in analysis as well as the development of design, plan preparation, specifications, and reports. Inspection may be required on occasion.
Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
Relevant previous professional experience in bridge design and inspection
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in WI, or ability to obtain within 12 months
Solid understanding of standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes.
Ability to produce design documentation/calculations
Proficiency in bridge design software, such as LEAP Concrete/Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, Larsa 4D, MIDAS Civil, and/or MDX
Working knowledge of CAD systems, specifically AutoCAD and Civil 3D
A thorough understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures.
Ideally youll also have:
Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
Demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, including both concrete and structural steel bridge types
Experience in both new bridge design as well as inspection, maintenance, and repair
Active involvement in local engineering societies.
