un Handyman needed - dependable hours, cash, about one day weekly (Weston (Fairfield County CT)) compensation: 35 an hour, cash if desired I am hiring a handyman for about 8 to 10 hours a week of work (sometimes more), on one home, and if the work goes well after several months, work and hours can remain or increase (if handyman desires more hours). This position can be balanced with other fulltime or part-time work. I want to be flexible and make sure hours work for all, but I also generally like to establish regular or semi-regular hours, which is to everyone's benefit to depend upon. You need to be able to do: furniture assembly, interior painting, drywall (not large scale, wall repairs),, light electrical (such as replace light fixtures and replace ceiling fans), minor window repairs, wall mounting of heavy items, regularly perform maintenance jobs and light repairs, and more. Ideally, you can also operate a log splitter (if I rent one from Home Depot to cut firewood) or do other outside handy work. If you can also do wallpaper, replace hardwood flooring, do light to medium plumbing, tile and/or bathroom reno work, rewire electrical/data cables, have experience with land irrigation and pump systems, or have other trades skills such as carpentry, please note. I can offer you more work too over time, if all else is going well. Pay is $35 an hour. For a few larger tasks, an extra $30 an hour will be provided when, and if we agree, you need a helper (which should leave you a little cash to pay unskilled labor roughly $20-22 an hour and then pocket $8-10 for you as foreman, but again, this will only occur with larger work). I will pay for all materials (from paints to nails), will provide an 18-foot-ladder on site but you should otherwise have your own tools. If we decide you might be qualified and able to do a larger renovation job, we could bill that on a separate project basis. There will also be a Christmas bonus, presuming you are doing good work and still working for me. I am going to hire an individual on a trial basis but if all continues to go well, he can count on this work for many months, and perhaps years. I do not need someone who says he can do everything. I would rather hire someone who is honest about what he can do, and honest about what he cannot, and desires and works to learn what he does not know. I've done many gut renovations jobs on homes and hired staffs of 8 to 17 for construction jobs (of all trades), and a good work ethic and honesty and a willingness to learn what you do not know, go a long way with me. If you're interested, please email your construction experience, skills, where you live, and if you have trades training (or if you learned from dad and not trades school, tell me what, as that can be great, too), please detail. Thank you. post id: ... updated: [ ]
