Senior Electrical Design Engineer Location: Sheffield Salary: Up to 55,000per annum + benefits Contract / Permanent: Permanent Site Based / Office / Remote: Hybrid Start Date: ASAP Job Overview We're looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong experience in AutoCAD Electrical to join a growing team delivering impactful projects across sectors such as clean energy, manufacturing, healthcare, and critical infrastructure. Core hours 10am-3pm and can start from 7am to suit. 25 days' annual leave + 8 bank holidays, with the option to buy/sell up to 5 days Career progression opportunities as the team grows Collaborative, inclusive team culture Pension scheme and life assurance Professional membership fees paid Access to an Employee Assistance Programme (including 24/7 GP) Enhanced family-friendly policies Industries and Clients You'll Support Work on electrical design projects for leading UK and international companies across: Nuclear and Clean Energy Renewables and Green Tech Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing and FMCG Oil and Gas Critical Infrastructure and Logistics Key Responsibilities Design electrical systems from scratch - including schematics and general arrangements Interpret user requirement specifications into practical, detailed designs Support testing, commissioning, and documentation Collaborate with hardware, software, and project teams to deliver integrated solutions Take ownership of your designs through the full project lifecycle What We're Looking For Advanced experience using AutoCAD Electrical (essential) Experience with low and extra-low voltage systems (ideally 400VAC with motor starters) Ability to design from a blank spec to meet detailed technical requirements Strong communication skills and confidence in cross-functional teams Minimum 2 years' experience with relevant qualifications, or 4+ years' practical electrical design experience Application Requirements For full transparency, we will request the following to support your application: A brief portfolio of electrical drawings/schematics Responses to the following: Do you have experience with low and extra-low voltage power distribution (ideally 400VAC with motor starters)?
