Note: The hourly rate for this position is $36 - $40 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities:
- An Installer shall work within a team typically compromised of other Installers, a Lead installer, and a Foreman to install on/off grid electrical installations, including, but not limited to, solar PV, battery storage, fuel-based generators, wind turbines, and fuel cells
- These systems can be roof, ground, and canopy mounted
- This position will work on construction jobsites and will always need to focus on their safety, their teams safety, and the safety of the project/customers site
- This position must focus on and ensure the quality of installation during any installation task
- Read and interpret project drawings, spec sheets, and installation manuals
- Layout roof, ground, and canopy mount solar PV modules and attachments
- Install the structural and racking materials associated with roof, ground, and canopy mount solar PV systems
- Install solar PV modules
- Interconnect module leads and jumpers between arrays
- Make up module lead, jumpers, and string homerun connectors (i.e.: MC4, Amphenol, etc.)
- Mount other project-related electrical equipment
- Run conduits between arrays and other electrical equipment (i.e.: inverters, disconnects, combiner boxes, gateways, sub-panels, main service panels, transformers, motors, micro-grid interconnection devices, etc.)
- Wire through conduit between electrical equipment
- Install micro-inverters and associated cabling
- Run string homerun wiring between arrays and string inverters
- Dig trenches to run underground electrical conduit
- Auger holes for ground and canopy mount systems
- Use all tools & equipment in the proper and designated manner
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Follow all safety guidelines and rules
- Always start a task with a job safety & quality analysis to understand what the safety/hazard concerns are, the preventative/corrective actions to eliminate/reduce those hazards, and the proper installation techniques to ensure safe work methods and a high-quality installation
- Install all work with craftsmanship and a high level of quality
- Remove and replace old solar PV systems
- Work with Lead Installer and Foreman to troubleshoot defective solar PV systems
- Wash modules Show up to work fit for duty
- Fill out timecards daily and accurately
Qualifications:
- Must have experience in Residential Solar Installing 5+ years
- Ability to follow OSHA requirements and safety precautions
- Able to work in hot and cold environments
- Capable of lifting equipment over your head, working overhead for extended periods of time, and climbing ladders
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prior experience in the commercial field preferred
- Position may require a drug screen
