IPS – RMB Products is seeking a Plastic Welder and Fabricator (Pharma) is responsible for fabricating and welding plastic products from various plastic materials such as PFA, PVDF, PE, PP, etc. Products vary in design and size, requiring strong skills in reading and interpreting drawings as well as proficiency using measurement tools. Excellent mechanical aptitude and strong skills with standard shop tools and equipment are also required.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Fabricate plastic components and products utilizing drawings, measurement tools, shop tools and equipment.
  • Work at an appropriate pace ensuring quality products and quality requirements are met while meeting or exceeding productivity targets
  • Using hot air and fusion welding techniques, assembling and weld plastic products to established designs and work instructions
  • Requires the ability to learn plastic weld skills and become certified in Plastic Welding
  • Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, pie tapes, height gages, and scales to fabricate components and assemblies as needed
  • Conduct quality inspections to established drawings and work instructions as needed
  • Become proficient in plastic welding of various plastic types achieving certifications as required
  • Observe all safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, respirators, etc. as required
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities such as PPI teams, lean initiatives, 5S, etc.
  • Recommend quality and productivity improvements where appropriate to increase customer satisfaction, quality delivery performance, and profitability
  • Become proficient in the sanding and grinding of products as needed
  • Requires the setup and operation of some minor equipment to satisfy the requirements when no tooling is furnished and the use of some inspection tools
  • The position requires minimal supervision and the use of quality workmanship standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor

Job Specifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required

Years’ Experience: 0-1 years’ experience

Skills:

  • Fabrication skills, plastic welding and fabrication preferred
  • Ability to interpret and utilize drawings and work instructions to fabricate products
  • Proficient with measurement tools, hand tools, and shop equipment
  • Ability to communicate orally in the English language and in group, face-to-face, and one-to-one settings
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • High level of mathematics skills is required
