Job Description
The SAS Project Management Office (PMO) is hiring a Senior Project Manager to support active and upcoming state government contracts. This role is fully remote and will operate on a 6-month contract with potential extension based on performance and project needs.
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the full project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities, while ensuring alignment with SAS s delivery standards. This is a client-facing role requiring polished communication, proactive issue management, and deep experience in public sector projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Own all aspects of project execution including budget, scope, schedule, and resource coordination
Manage client relationships and act as primary point of contact throughout the engagement
Develop and maintain detailed project documentation (charters, design docs, RACI, etc.)
Lead risk management, QA oversight, performance tracking, and reporting
Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors to ensure timely, quality delivery
Forecast project needs, track billable hours, and manage subcontractor expenses
Conduct project health checks and close-out reviews, ensuring customer satisfaction
Must-Have Skills:

PMP Certification (active and current)
7+ years of experience in customer-facing Project Management roles
Proven success delivering projects for State or Local Government clients
Experience leading software/service implementation projects (not hardware/networking)
Strong documentation skills (Project Charters, RACI matrices, Design Documents, etc.)
Proficiency with project tools such as MS Project and Jira (or similar)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage full project lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience delivering projects for State/Local Government agencies
Background in SAS implementations or similar enterprise solutions
Agile/hybrid methodology experience
Jira and MS Project experience preferred
