HVAC Technicians are mobile and use multiple trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, locksmith, painting and roofing for a wide variety of customers in an assigned geographical territory. Technicians are provided a company van, tools and equipment. Technicians are based at their home address and access their daily route through a company provided iPad and iPhone. We offer opportunities for skill development through on the job training as well as professional training and education programs.

Job Title: HVAC Technician III

Job Summary:

The HVAC Tech III candidate will be able to complete required PM’s and perform repairs on the client’s facility equipment as directed by site leadership. Within the preventive and reactive work orders, candidate will be able to install, trouble shoot, and repair facility HVAC systems, and repair facility electrical distribution systems, electronics, automation systems, lighting systems, apparatus, and devices and devices. Advanced skills and knowledge of motor controls, and logic control systems is a priority. Qualified candidates should be familiar with low voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and voice and data systems. Position provides quality control using guidelines from the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations and EMCOR standard practices. The candidate will regularly lead projects of criticality to campus and beyond with high consequences of success or failure. The employee has impact and influence on campus policy and program development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a safe and clean work area. Demonstrate basic safe work practices based on company and customer policies and procedures.

2. Able to attend and pass certification and licensing classroom and practical training for rolling stock, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, etc.

3. Design and/or evaluate HVAC Systems. HVAC design engineers create heating and cooling systems and their controls.

4. Troubleshoot and repair facilities HVAC controls and automation components.

5. Calculate Heating and Cooling Needs.

6. Interpret and Draft Plans, based on calculated ventilation requirements

7. Replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, relays, contractors, and control button

Installs and connects power supply wiring and conduit for lighting, general devices, newly installed machines and building equipment

8. Adhere to All Building Codes along State/Federal Guidelines and company-client policies and procedures.

9. Coordinate with Others, such as other trades

10. Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities

11. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Business Experience

5-10 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications

Must possess applicable certifications, licenses and a valid driver's license

Language Skills

1. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions operating and maintenance instructions, and memos.

2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

3. Ability to effectively present information in one–on-one and small group situations of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Physical Demands:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is considered normal. Required to drive a company vehicle daily.
