Job Summary: The Lead Electrical Engineer at Salas O'Brien will work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment and will be responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects in the higher education, government and healthcare markets. We are looking for a highly motivated Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Baltimore, MD team! The ideal candidate will have leadership skills to assist in building and leading their team! Duties:
- Lead project execution with a multi-disciplined team of engineers and designers.
- Design electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, telecom and security.
- Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
- Develop electrical system design calculations.
- Prepare detailed design documents in REVIT.
- Perform QA/QC design work.
- Lead a project team and manage projects.
- Coordinate with Owners and Architects.
- Coordinate work with other disciplines.
- Complete code compliance research.
- Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers.
- Assist in the procurement of new work, including the development of client relations.
Skills:
- Excellent work ethic and attitude.
- Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize work.
- Ability to lead a team as well as work as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Autocad, Revit and MS Office required.
- You are familiar with the codes, standards and design guidelines required.
- You have experience with complex institutional projects required.
Qualifications:
- You have a minimum of 10 years’ design experience as a registered engineer.
- You have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- You possess a Professional Engineer license, PE required.
- You have LEED experience; certification is a plus.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) status is a plus.
- Work Authorization/Security Clearance
- Must be a US Citizen for Security Clearance requirements
- Active/Interim or ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance
- Location : Baltimore, MD - Hybrid (3 days per week in-office)
- Compensation: $155-170K
Travel: 10% - 20% (locally and to other states such as Tennessee, West-Virginia, Pennsylvania, Oregon)
