OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for Supervision for the New Hope Power Company I/E shop. The IE Superintendent shall provide planning, coordinating and scheduling of I/E maintenance activities to ensure a safe and efficient execution of the work. This position will review and determine the functionality of Preventive Maintenance activities and conduct failure analysis to identify and prevent future failures. Outage planning and work will also be part of the responsibility of this role.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support for the implementation of NHPC protective system maintenance and improvements
- Supervise the I/E Technicians and directs the daily operations of the instrument repair shop.
- Responsible for LOTO procedures of I/E related work.
- Review notifications and follow directives of Maintenance Manager.
- Walk plant daily and report findings focusing on electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Conducts E&I repair and maintenance functions safely, reliably, efficiently, and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Able to trouble shoot control circuits such as: 120/480volt starter circuits and 4160volt starter circuits.
- Able to trouble shoot, install, replace, or repair 120volt, 480volt lighting circuits.
- Provides the documentation of maintenance activities, including the preparation, cataloging, and filing of maintenance service reports
- Train and develop direct reports to trouble shoot and resolve I&E related failures
- Coordinate both routine and emergency maintenance activities
- Coordinate operational system tests and fault diagnostic activities
- Review technical problems and associated equipment maintenance activities while providing technical guidance to subordinate technicians, and become personally involved in the solution of unusual or difficult maintenance problems
- Direct and support all E&I shop activities including but not limited to the outfitting and stocking of E&I Shop consumable supplies.
- Able to accurately maintain record keeping for E&I repair and maintenance functions such as electrical and instrument calibration data sheets (ICDs), loop calibration sheets, calibration procedures, and emission monitors.
- Able to coordinate and support of E&I contractors during plant outages and modifications.
- Able to assist in the investigation of plant problems, incidents, accidents, and unusual events, and provide analysis, recommendations, reports, and appropriate follow-up plans.
- Must be able to perform tests, repairs and modifications while systems are on line in accordance with OSHA and NHPC Safety Procedures
- Able to organize, plan and prioritize work assignments in order to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Able to perform calibrations, troubleshooting and maintenance on electrical and control equipment or other equipment, as assigned.
- Able to perform scheduled and periodic instrument and electrical calibrations and field instrument loop verification.
- Oversees the installation of new equipment
- Able to read, understand and interpret blue prints and electrical diagrams.
- May be required to monitor contractors on specific tasks during outages or plant modifications.
- Understands maintenance strategies including preventative and predictive maintenance
- Attend maintenance daily meetings.
WORK EXPERIENCES
- Possess a minimum of 5 years Supervisor experience in a power plant facility.
- Possess a minimum of 10 years I/E field experience.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of an B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
- Possesses knowledge on electrical equipment such as: 120/240volt., 480volt, 4160volt, 13.8 kv, & 138 kv.
- Have working knowledge on switch gears and willing to work on high voltage equipment
- Required knowledge in logic and troubleshooting techniques with experience in digital control systems, program logic controllers, process monitoring equipment and continuous emission monitoring systems.
- Possess professional communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to properly communicate with plant employees and outside vendor representatives.
- Possess expert computer skills with proficiency in Micro Soft Office (word, excel, power point).
- Demonstrated capability to perform specialized maintenance and/or operational tasks on electronic and E&I equipment.
- Must be able to work required schedule as determined by plant operations including shift work or on-call status to respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Must be able to work from high locations and during inclement weather conditions.
- Working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
