Note: The hourly rate for this position is $22 - $28 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities:
- Install hollow metal, aluminum storefront, wood, and specialty doors (e.g., fire-rated, security doors) in commercial buildings
- Install related hardware: hinges, closers, locks, panic bars, thresholds, weatherstripping, etc.
- Understand door schedules, architectural drawings, and hardware specifications
- Modify or prep doors and frames for specific hardware installations using hand or power tools
- Accurately measure openings and ensure proper alignment, plumb, and level before installation
- Identify and correct issues related to door swing, alignment, or hardware operation
- Use PPE and follow OSHA regulations and jobsite safety protocols at all times
- Coordinate with carpenters, electricians, and general contractors on-site for seamless installation
- Keep all tools in safe working condition and ensure equipment is used properly
- Complete jobsite reports, track materials, and communicate progress or issues to supervisors or project managers
- Perform demolition and clean-up work when retrofitting or replacing old doors
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18+ years of age 5 years of experience in commercial carpentry preferred Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to read blueprints
- Capable of repeatedly lifting 50 pounds to load and unload wood and other materials, as well as transport tools and materials to and from the jobsite
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prior experience in the commercial field required
