Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Project Manager to oversee the execution of fire alarm system projects from design through final inspection. The ideal candidate will have experience managing commercial fire alarm installations and upgrades, coordinating teams, ensuring code compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of fire alarm projects, including planning, coordination, scheduling, and execution.
  • Coordinate with AHJs, engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and clients throughout the project.
  • Ensure designs meet NFPA 72, local codes, and client specifications.
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and specifications prior to installation.
  • Oversee procurement of equipment and materials from approved manufacturers.
  • Track project budgets, schedule milestones, and manage changes or delays.
  • Conduct job site walks, supervise installation quality, and ensure all phases meet code and safety standards.
  • Schedule and oversee inspections, system testing, and final acceptance with AHJs.
  • Generate project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, compliance reports, and close-out packages.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field staff.
  • Build strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience managing commercial fire alarm system projects.
  • Deep understanding of NFPA 72 and local fire/life safety codes.
  • Experience working with major fire alarm systems (e.g., Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, EST, Simplex, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiarity with permitting, inspection scheduling, and working with AHJs.
  • NICET Level II or III certification in Fire Alarm Systems strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, or similar).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is a plus, but not required or equivalent experience

Work Conditions

  • Mix of office and field environments.
  • Must be able to walk job sites, attend meetings, and perform physical inspections.
  • Occasional travel to regional job sites required.
