Position Information
This position is responsible for working collaboratively with the Continuous Improvement Manager, Continuous Improvement Analyst, and site teams to ensure alignment of plant continuous improvement project activities to the Marathon Cheese Corporation (MCC) strategy and vision. This position will define, maintain and communicate clear project scopes and objectives providing direction during and follow-up after project completion across all respective site departments. The individual will use a variety of skills such as project design, process innovation, leadership and coaching to ensure performance improvement, process development and process adherence. This position reports to the MCC Continuous Improvement Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- The Continuous Improvement Project Manager will develop standardized project documentation tools for internal/external use across all project types, in coordination with other functional areas within the company
- Implement project management processes and facilitate coaching, training and hand-off/delivery of ownership to the respective departments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive the creation and implementation of lean projects which drive improvement in safety, quality and efficiency performance.
- Utilize the DMAIC process to identify and implement projects that drive improved and sustainable business processes and practices
- Work closely with Directors, Plant Managers, Supervisors and technical resources to implement projects that drive measurable and sustainable improvements in Marathon City operations
- Manage the successful completion to target of the site level planned projects ensuring achievement of improvements and realization of cost savings opportunities
- Monitor, track and report the progress of identified site level improvement projects and offer viable solutions as opportunities arise.
- Set agendas, lead meetings, and communicate executional expectations for cross functional project teams
- Assist in fostering the adoption of continuous improvement as a way of life, creating a culture of change
- Primary function of this role includes but is not limited to the operations of the Marathon City facility

Qualifications for Continuous Improvement Project Manager
- Associates Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related fields, or 4+ years of applicable experience required
- 3 years of experience in continuous improvement role and project management in a manufacturing environment. Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or a related discipline preferred
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred or strong demonstrable experience in Project Management skillsets
- Proficiency in SAP and advanced computer skills relevant for data management, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Strong cross collaboration and team building skills with a passion to develop and coach team members
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Detail oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
