You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER in the PRODUCTION DIVISION DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Installing, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and loading new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment; 2) Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system; 3) Inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with National Electric Codes, Unified Facilities Criteria, State and Local requirements, etc.; 4) Following blueprints and manufacturers' specifications, uses hand tools and specialized test instruments; and 5) Calibrating testing instruments and maintaining records of repairs, calibrations and tests.
