The incumbent is responsible for a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks reled to the operion and maintenance of facilities.
Interprets construction and project renovion blueprints, prepares layouts and sketches, prepares purchase requests for tools, merial and equipment needed to ensure. Work must be accure and to specificions according to job requirements.
Performs work in least three of the following trades in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and reled fixtures and utilities from initial layout to completion:
Plumbing: Makes plumbing repairs to sinks, faucets, commodes, tanks, urinals, P-traps, and shut-off valves th can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, resealing, replacing defective parts or units. Involves installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing utility, supply and disposal systems and equipment, wer closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, and showers. The incumbent works from building plans, blueprints, slant, slope, fall and proper operion of systems and equipment. Installs, modifies and repairs systems like those described above by locing and tapping main lines, setting up system routes, placing and cutting route openings, placing hangers for proper level and slope, and determining and installing valves, traps, and unions needed for proper operion of systems.
Heing, Ventilion and Air Conditioning (HVAC) : Recognizes the cause of faulty equipment and assists making repairs on a variety of HVAC units. Incumbent traces and loces defects to determine the type and extent of repair needed and they plan the work, select the proper tools/testing devices and accomplish repairs according to accepted trade practices.
Electrical : Electrical crew is consulted for unusual or complex electrical work. Repairs are accomplished by removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, soldering and insuling defective wiring, controls, equipment, and fixtures. May install or repair electrical systems incident to he construction or maintenance of a facility.
Carpentry : Uses skilled techniques to construct, install, repair and modify wood and wood substitute structures and items requiring close tolerance fit and structural soundness. Constructs and repairs a wide variety of structural items such as building frames, rafters, concrete forms, walls, staircases, door and window frames, interior and exterior trim and miscellaneous items. Assembles items using a variety of joining techniques and are skilled in the operion of general and precision carpentry and wood working equipment and are able to produce finished products with precise fits, accure dimensions and acceptable appearance.
Painting : Performs special coing methods such as marbling and graining using coing merials prepared in special as well as common ways and by applying coing techniques th ensure surfaces have a smooth-textured and decorive appearance and meet thickness and level requirements.
Observes required safety, sanition and hazardous waste disposal rules and regulions. Operes vehicle to transport tools and merials to work site.
Performs other reled duties as assigned.

A minimum three years documented general experience, with two years documented specialized experience in the applicable combinion of trades noted herein sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
A recognized professional certificion or license in one trade is preferred.
Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulions concerning procedures, tools, mechanical and electrified equipment, chemicals and basic safe work practices is required.
Ability to read, write, and follow approprie plans and specificions. Ability to communice verbally and to perform all necessary mh computions and measurements.
Plumbing Work : Knowledge of how various supply, disposal and utility systems and equipment are installed and opered. Knowledge to plan and lay out the installion and modificion of various system and equipment; to interpret and apply building plane and blueprints; to use shop mhemics; and lay out such things as angles, arc and circles. Skill in the use of any of the accepted trade methods and techniques and in the use of tools and equipment.
Carpentry and Paint : Must be knowledgeable in shop mhemics and possess the skill to compute complex and exact projects with feures such as arcs, tangents and circles. Must have the ability to read, interpret, and apply building plans, specificions, blueprints and sketches of all complexity. Must have the knowledge of the basic components of a structure and understand the purpose of the components as they rele to the complete structure so as to insure strength, support and fit of assemblies. Must be skilled in the use of a variety of hand and power shop tools of the carpentry trade to include set up and adjustment of tools to accomplish all tasks. Must be knowledgeable of safety measures when using tools and must possess the skill to maintain the tools to include sharpening saws, tools, and accessories. Must have knowledge of standard surface preparion and coing methods and techniques. Must have skill in the use of such tools and equipment as scrapers, wire brushes, putty knives, sandpaper, paint brushes, rollers, spray guns, etc.
Mason : Knowledge of the techniques and procedures of brick, block, and stonework. Has a basic knowledge of the techniques and procedures involved in laying brick, block, and stone in the construction and repair of walkways, veneer wails, and similarly uncompliced structures. Has ability to use trowel, spirit levels, plumb bobs, air-hammers, and chisels in preparing work surfaces and accomplishing mason tasks. Knowledge of and ability to use the various hand and power tools associed with the occupion.
